I'm Peter Duerst (he/him), a software engineer and theater maker in the Boston area.

I'm a Software Test Engineer II at Medtronic, working on their Surgical Robotics team.
I'm playing Antonio in Theatre@First's upcoming production of The Tempest by William Shakespeare, directed by Elizabeth Hunter. Performances will be 7pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from June 6th to June 22nd, with rain dates of June 27th to 29th.
I'm directing Artemisia by Lauren Gunderson for Theatre@First's next season! Auditions will be in March 2026, with performances in June. More info to come!
I graduated from MIT in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Theater Arts. After graduation, I spent 5 years working in consumer robotics: first at iRobot, then at 10Beauty. Since April 2024, I've been working as a Software Test Engineer II at Medtronic, working on their Surgical Robotics team.
I love to build things, from robots to theater sets. I also enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, acting in community theater, and trying new vegetarian/vegan recipes.
