I'm Peter Duerst (he/him), a software engineer and theater maker in the Boston area.

Current and Upcoming Work
I'm a Software Test Engineer II at Medtronic, working on their Surgical Robotics team.
I'm the Assistant Director and Fight Choreographer on Theatre@First's current production: None Escape by Robin Abrahams, an adaptation of The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells, directed by Elizabeth Ross. Our last 3 performances are March 27th – 29th, get your tickets here!
I'm directing The Intervention by Peter M. Floyd for Dream Role Players as part of Boston Theater Marathon XXVII. The performance will be on Sunday, May 4th!
I'm playing Antonio in Theatre@First's upcoming production of The Tempest by William Shakespeare, directed by Elizabeth Hunter. Performances will be 7pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from June 6th to June 22nd, with rain dates of June 27th to 29th.
About Me
I graduated from MIT in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Theater Arts. After graduation, I spent 5 years working in consumer robotics: first at iRobot, then at 10Beauty. Since April 2024, I've been working as a Software Test Engineer II at Medtronic, working on their Surgical Robotics team.
I love to build things, from robots to theater sets. I also enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, acting in community theater, and trying new vegetarian/vegan recipes.
